Early Childhood Education Specialization
The quality of state funded pre-kindergarten programs has increased greatly with technical training being required of lead teachers in 28 states. The Early Childhood Education program at Capella University prepares teachers to create, implement, and assess appropriate learning experiences for the various stages of developmental learning for children. Child psychology, classroom management, the early childhood learning environment, family engagement, and strategies for eliminating achievement gaps, are all part of the curriculum. With the elective course work available, you will have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge of learning theories, or choose specialty fields, such as supervisory skills or special education. People who want to be in this field are licensed teachers interested in education at the early stages of development and want to specialize in that area, or desire to teach early childhood education in a higher education institution.
